1 The letter is so dated in Professor Zeine's version (p. 241), in the official British version (Cmd. 5957 of 1939, p. 7), and in Antonius's version (The Arab awakening, p. 419). This date corresponds with the Arabic date (15 Hijja 1333) given in the text of the document. The note in English handwriting at the head of the document (Zeine, plate i) wrongly gives the date of the letter as 26.10.15, the date of its despatch.
