1) Prior to 1933 the Hess papers, now in Amsterdam, constituted a part of the Sozialdemokratisches Parteiarchiv (Berlin). Shortly after Hitler came to power, the party archives were sent aborad, and acquired by the IISG. The Hess papers which are now in the possession of the ZCA were collected by Th. Zlocisti. Since his death in 1944, they are in the custody of the ZCA.

9) Unfortunately, while I was in the United States, I had no proofs of Hess' authorship. Since 1951, I have the proofs, but am thouands of miles away from the Newberry Library in Chicago, the only library poessing a file of the I llinois-staats-Zeitung.
