Melicharia obtusanguloides sp.n. (Flatidae) infesting tea in southern India is desscribed and compared with M. obtusangula Distant and Idume plicata Melichar whose male genitalia are illustrated. The male type of M. obtusangula is designated as lectotype. Brief notes are given on the habits of Ketumala thea Ghauri (Flatidae) and Ricania fenestrata (F.) (Ricaniidae), and the male genitalia of the latter species are figured.
