A new species of Mycteromyiella (Diptera: Tachinidae) parasitic on Ophicrania leveri Günther (Phasmida: Phasmatidae) in the Solomon Islands

Extract

A new species of Tachinidae, Mycteromyiella phasmatophaga sp.n., from Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands is described and figured; descriptive notes and figures are also given for the related species M. laetifica (Mesnil), to supplement the original description. Both species are recorded as parasites of the Phasmatid Ophicrania levari Günther in the Solomon Islands.
