The structure and biology of a new species of Mallophora Macq. (Diptera, Asilidae) from Trinidad, W.I.

Extract

Detailed descriptions are given of the adults, larvae and pupae of Mallophora media sp.n., Asilidae, which occurs in Trinidad, W.I. The larvae live in the soil and prey upon larvae of Scarabaeidae. The affinities of the new species are discussed.
