A new genus and species of Tetrastichinae (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) parasitic on the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae)

Abstract

Phymastichus coffea, a new genus and species of tetrastichine Eulophidae, is described. This species is parasitic on the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari), in Africa and is currently under investigation as a possible biological control agent for this borer
