The development of nutritionally complete diets for use in tropical aquaculture is essential if the desired intensification is to occur. The diets must use locally available protein sources, preferably those unsuitable for human consumption. The work currently being undertaken at Aston University has the long-term aim of developing a compound diet using plant protein sources.
