In August, 1807, was discovered in the suburbs on the southern side of the city of York, a Roman Vault: it was broken into at one of the sides, in digging the foundation for a house. The dimensions in the inside are as follows: Length eight feet, height six feet, breadth five feet. The top arched with bricks, one foot square, and two inches and a half in thickness.
