2 In an article entitled ‘Alleged Norse Remains in America’ which contains a transcript and a photograph of the inscription.

3 Mullsjõ is in Sweden and a runic inscription was ‘discovered’ there in 1953. This runic hoax provided the only ‘inscription’ in runes which was in modern English. The style of the runes is about 1000 A.D. and part of the message reads, ‘Joe Doakes went East 1953. He discovered Europe. Holy smoke!’
