13 In Thessaly the sequence of Neolithic cultures has recently been found to be much more complicated than was known before. According to Milojčić (Germania 37, 1959, 65-84) the results would tend to make the dates for Vinča and Starčevo a few centuries higher than he assumed in his 1949 paper.
