page 184 note 1 A chalice also appears, upheld by Adam, who is emerging from the tomb, in the Crucifixion in the Arundel Psalter (British Museum, Arundel MS. 83), c. 1280. In this illumination the background is enriched with quarries, alternately plain and charged with fleurs-de-lis.
