Outpatient stewardship: The vast majority of antibiotic use in humans occurs outside of the hospital setting. Given the need for enhanced antimicrobial stewardship efforts, and anticipating changes in regulation, accreditation, and guidance in these settings, ASHE is seeking submissions on interventions to improve outpatient antibiotic use and/or application of outpatient quality metrics for antibiotic prescribing. Settings include but are not limited to primary care (adult and pediatrics), urgent care, outpatient hemodialysis settings, school health programs, or partnerships with community microbiology laboratories or community pharmacies.
