Examinations of 92 monozygotic and 83 dizygotic twin pairs and 27 families with 78 children have given the result that the ability « tongue curling » is to a certain degree, but not exclusively hereditary. Furthermore, some people are able to learn it. Hence, it is not an unconditionally constant individual trait. By a somewhat more exact functional analysis it is shown that the alternative distribution in the population is counterfeinted only. Hence, there is no evidence for the monomere inheritance lati in Groningen e Drenthe (due supposed by some authors.

Gli esami di 92 paia di gemelli monozigoti e di 83 dizigoti e di 27 famiglie con 78 bambini hanno dato il risultato che la caratteristica « ondulazione della lingua » è fino ad un certo punto ma non del tutto ereditaria.

Inoltre, alcune persone sono capaci di impararlo. Per conseguenza, essa non è incondizionatamente una caratteristica individuale costante.

Da una poco più esatta analisi funzionale è dimostrato che l'alternativa distribuzione nella popolazione è soltanto contraffatta.

Donde non v'è evidenza per eredità monomera supposta da alcuni autori.

ZUSAMMENFASSUNG

Untersuchungen an 92 EZ und 83 ZZ sowie an 27 Familien mit 78 Kindern zeigen, dass die Fähigkeit, die Zunge um die Längsachse zu rollen, zwar bis zu einem gewissen Grade, aber nicht ausschliesslich von der Erbanlage abhängig ist. Ferner ist sie in manchen Fällen erlernbar, also kein unbedingt konstantes persönliches Merkmal, und durch etwas genauere funktionelle Analyse lässt sich zeigen, dass die alternative Verteilung in der Bevölkerung im Sinne eines entweder-oder nur vorgetäuscht ist. Mithin spricht nichts für den von einigen Autoren angenommenen monomeren Erbgang.
