4 Judge Hackworth declared that he concurred in the operative part of the judgment, but emphasized that he did so because he considered that Norway had proved the existence of a historic title to the disputed areas. Judges Alvarez and Hsu Mo gave separate opinions, the latter finding that certain of the base-lines were not fixed in accordance with international law. Judges McNair and Bead gave dissenting opinions.
