The United States Senate gave its advice and consent to the ratification of the convention on May 16, 1966; the President ratified it on June 1, 1966; and the U. S. instrument of ratification was deposited on June 10, 1966. Other governments on whose behalf instruments of ratification have been deposited are: Central African Republic, Chad, Congo (Brazzaville), Dahomey, Gabon, Ghana, Iceland, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Malagasy Republic, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritania, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Uganda, Upper Volta.
