Footnotes
The Assistant Editors, as most readers of American Antiquity already know, are frequently asked to advise the editor on manuscripts bearing on sites or problems from their respective areas. Also, it is their anonymous editorial chore to gather, sift, and arrange (subject to further revision by the Associate Editor, who fits material to varying space limitations) the important NOTES AND NEWS feature of each issue
It should be pointed out that the over 600 titles included in SOME RECENT PUBLICATIONS in this issue were in large measure gathered by these same unsung assistant editors. The editor's contribution has been limited to arrangement and consolidation; also a few titles, not available to the assistants, have been added from publications sent directly to the editor through the courtesy of the publisher or of the author.
For the CARIBBEAN titles we are indebted to Irving Rouse.
