Modelling, simulation and flight test experience in the development of unstable robotic aircraft

Abstract

The experiences and lessons learnt over the past twenty years developing a range of unstable unmanned aircraft are described along with the extensive use made of modelling and simulation in this development process. The scope for future developments is addressed and indicates even more on board intelligence is possible and desirable.
