In this paper it is proposed to deal with dopes and fabric as far as they relate to the problem of the production of a structural covering for aircraft which will maintain its tautness under varying conditions of humidity and also retain its strength after prolonged weathering.
Note on page 273 * In practice it is the amount of deformation of the wing surface during flight which is important; hence in this paper depressions and not their reciprocals are given.
Note on page 293 * If reciprocals of depression are plotted a straight line relation is obtained.
Note on page 299 * Log. (initial strength/final strength).
Note on page 301 * The pressure in this tube rose to 7.0 m.m. after 670 hours recorded sunshine ; the test was then stopped.
† This tube was fitted with platinum electrodes, which were sparked occasionally to produce ozone.
Note on page 303 * Includes fabric.
