A Theoretical Derivation of the Composition of Mixable Specimens from Fluorescent X-Ray Intensities
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 06 March 2019
Abstract
A rigorous solution is developed for the correlation of the composition of mixable specimens and the fluorescent X-radiation emitted by the elements in the specimen. The instrumental modifications and treatment of the specimens are derived from the fundamental fluorescence equation.
The resultant dilution formula contains measurable quantities only. No calibration curve is required.
The theory is illustrated by some experimental data confirming the equations.
