Ordered by the Mr and Seniors for the better preserving the bookes in the Library this 10th day of February 1650[51] as followeth—

1 That no person whatsoever belonging to this Colledge under ye degree of a Mr of Artes (except hee bee fellow or fellowcommoner) shall bee permitted to study in the Library: neither shall any whither stranger or of the Coll: under ye degree before mentioned (except ye before excepted) bee admitted to view ye Library unlesse by the appointment of the Mr, or in his absence of the Vice Mr: or yf some one of the Fellowes go alonge with him and there abide with ye party brought in by him untill his departure thence. Those appertaining to ye Coll. to bee punished by the Mr, or in his absence by the Vice Mr, ye summe of two shillings & six pence for every time they shall herein offend. And if the under library keeper shall bring in any under the degree of Mr of Artes either of this or any other Colledge to bee punished five shillings.

2 That no Fellowcommoner of this Colledg, nor Mr of Artes (not fellow) shall at any time take any booke or bookes out of ye Library upon any occasion whatsoever under ye penalty of paying ye double value of ye said booke or bookes so taken out.
