Summary

BL Add. 19,725, a late tenth-century manuscript from around Rheims, contains penitential texts, among other things. A slightly later hand has added material in the margins and empty spaces, including a Sunday Letter on 87v and the bottom margin of 88r. The ink has been rubbed away in places and the margins have been trimmed, resulting in a loss of text. This copy of the Sunday Letter was noted by Priebsch (Letter from Heaven, p. 5 n. 2), who noticed the significant lacuna towards the end of the text and suggested that the missing portion had been written on a piece of parchment inserted in this spot but now lost. Letters and words in angled brackets have been supplied from the much later but more readable version in Vienna, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, 1355 (Appendix IIa) and from Paris, BN 12,270 (Appendix I).
