Blackbourn V. St Mary. Belonged to the Monastery of Whalley. Ks books 8-1-8. By the Parl. Survey 1647 it hath 50 Acres of old Inclosure & 20 of new, with 2 Ho. & a Barn, 35 : Pension from ABP, 26-13-4: Surpl. fees 10£. Sev’ Ho. on the Glebe 14-16-8 others at 10s each 9-10-0. In all 96£. Wake p. 114 for the first Article hath 50 Acres of old Incl. 20£. 20 of new 5£ uncultivated Land 10£. And he omits the two last Articles: which brings it to 71-13-4. Then he adds Juxons Augm. 70£ & a Farm bought by Sancroft 33£. In all 174-13-4. The Endowm’ of the V. of Blackbourn is not in the BPS Registry

The Rectories of Rachdale, Blakeborne & Whalley & the Manor of Littlebourne with their chapels &c and other appurtenances were given by the Crown to the ABP in Exchange 31 Aug 1 Ed 6. See Chart Misc. vol. 13 N° 21.

The Lease of the Rectory grants it with the Chapels of Law & Salmesbury, but reserves the patronage of the Vicarage, & the nomination to the several Chapels. The Income of the Vicarage was 140£ in 1683 out of wch the Vicar pd 4£ a year to Law Chapel, 4£ to Samlesbury, 2-8-0 for Tenths, Pension, Procurations & Synodals, & 30£ to a Curate to preach in the Afternoon at Blackburn. Mr Prices Letter to ABP March 29. 1683.

They are 7. and 14£ a Year is paid to the ministers of them by the Lessee, pursuant to the ﹛Will﹜ (Gift in 1688/9) of Mrs Cordelia Fleetwood, then Lessee. The Nomination to them is reserved to the ABP in the Lease. But it appears not (upon search), that he ever hath nominated. ABP Sancroft purchased an Estate (for himself & for his successors) for the Augmentation of these 7 Chapels, which he leased. May 26.
