Dicto primo die mensis Aprilis praefatus reverendissimus in Christo pater et dominus de mane accedens ad ecclesiam Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, indutus pontificalibus celebravit missam solemnem de Spiritu Sancto ad summum altare eiusdem, assistentibus sibi (ut moris est) in pontificalibus venerabilibus patribus Richardo Londoniensi, Iohanne Eliensi, Philippo Lincolniensi, Roberto Herefordensi, Iohanne Coventrensi et Lichensi ac Stephano Menevensi coepiscopis et suffraganeis suis; qua missa flnita idem reverendissimus pater cum dictis suffraganeis suis, abbatibus, prioribus, decanis, archidiaconis et aliis ecclesiarum praelatis, ac clero suae Cantuariensis provinciae se recepit in capellam Beatae Virginis eiusdem ecclesiae, ubi facta collatione solemni per reverendum virum Magistrum Robertum Gilbert, sacrae paginae professorem, sumpto pro themate: 'Sanctificate ecclesiam' lectum erat certificatorium dicti reverendi patri domini Londoniensis episcopi, cuius tenor sequitur in haec verba:

Reverendissimo in Christo patri et domino Domino Henrico, Dei gratia Cantuariensi archiepiscopo, totius Angliae primati et apostolicae sedis legato, ipsiusve locum tenentibus seu commissariis in hac parte quibuscunque Richardus, permissione divina Londoniensis episcopus oboedientiam et reverentiam tanto patri debitas cum honore. Literas vestras octavo die mensis Martii ultimo praeterito [8 March 1416] recepimus tenorem qui sequitur continentes:
Henricus, permissione divina etc., venerabili fratri nostro Domino Richardo, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem et fraternae dilectionis continuum incrementum. Licet nostrae mentis intentio postquam Cantuariensi ecclesiae, cui donante Altissimo praesidemus, regimen assumpsimus, ad hoc summis studiis testante Deo elaborare curaverit ut tarn praelatorum quam cleri nostrae provinciae sumptibus laboribus et expensis, consideratis variis et plus solito eisdem incumbentibus oneribus provisione paterna, quantum in nobis est, ut convenit, parceremus; verum tamen causarum et negotiorum inopinate emergentium necessitas, quae ipsorum deliberationem expostulat, nos impellit ut ipsos in his praesertim quae maturo consilio et deliberatione indigent ad nostrae sollicitudinis relavamen saepius convocemus.
