Summary

This chapter will outline the role of the obstetric anesthesiologist in caring for the parturient with a complex medical disease, the importance of early obstetric anesthesia consultation, and the value of establishing a multidisciplinary care team for the management of these patients. It also offers different tools for putting into action a care plan for a complex patient.
