Summary

Joseph A. Gallian was born in Arnold, Pennsylvania on January 5, 1942. He obtained a B.A. from Slippery Rock University in 1966, an M.A. from the University of Kansas in 1968 and a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 1971. After serving as a visitingAssistant Professor at Notre Dame for one year, he went to the University of Minnesota Duluth where he is a University Distinguished Professor of Teaching.
