Summary

This book is the outcome of a conference on ‘Labour Market Implications of European Ageing’, held at the University of Munich on 23–25 April 1992. The conference was made possible by a grant from Directorate-General V (Employment, Industrial Relations and Social Affairs) of the Commission of the European Communities.

We would like to thank the University of Munich for hosting the conference, David Guthrie and Kate Millward at CEPR for guiding this volume to press, and John Black of the University of Exeter for his work as Production Editor.
