Summary
My aim in this chapter is chiefly descriptive and explanatory. What is the scale of the judicialisation of health in Brazil? How is it geographically distributed in such a large and diverse country? What kinds of health interventions are mostly claimed in the courts? Who are its main actors? How much does it cost the public coffers? I will try to build as comprehensive a picture as possible with the currently available data.
