Summary
This chapter considers agreements relating to adoption, in particular, contact agreements by which the birth parents and the adopting parents agree to maintain connections between the birth parents and the adopted child. The chapter explores why some states refuse to enforce such agreements while other states enforce them only with judicial oversight.
