Summary
This chapter examines the role of regulatory agencies in constraining radical curriculum change in universities. Using agencies from the disciplines of accounting, the health sciences, and engineering, this section demonstrates how knowledge and power are configured inside these professional agencies, which in turn reference their standards in relation to Western models of curriculum regulation. In other words, professional regulation and radical change don’t mix.
