Summary
This chapter offers a methodological discussion that aims to disentangle language contact, bilingualism, and first language (L1) attrition effects in endangered languages. Indeed, when working with bilingual speakers of an endangered language, there is always the question of whether the data reflect well-established language contact phenomena, result from ongoing processes at the level of the bilingual speaker, or reflect L1 attrition. To explore these different levels, I suggest a three-step methodology
