The main goal of this paper is to construct universal spaces for asymptotic dimension by generalizing to the coarse context an approach to constructing universal spaces for covering dimension using a factorization result due to Mardesic.

Let $W_{\Gamma} $ be the right-angled Coxeter group with defining graph $\Gamma $. We show that the asymptotic dimension of $W_{\Gamma} $ is smaller than or equal to $\mathrm{dim}_{CC}(\Gamma )$, the clique-connected dimension of the graph. We generalize this result to graph products of finite groups.

This paper is devoted to dualization of paracompactness to the coarse category via the concept of $R$-disjointness. Property A of Yu can be seen as a coarse variant of amenability via partitions of unity and leads to a dualization of paracompactness via partitions of unity. On the other hand, finite decomposition complexity of Guentner, Tessera, and Yu and straight finite decomposition complexity of Dranishnikov and Zarichnyi employ $R$-disjointness as the main concept. We generalize both concepts to that of countable asymptotic dimension and our main result shows that it is a subclass of spaces with Property A. In addition, it gives a necessary and sufficient condition for spaces of countable asymptotic dimension to be of finite asymptotic dimension.

Consider the wreath product $H\,\wr \,G$, where $H\,\ne \,1$ is finite and $G$ is finitely generated. We show that the Assouad–Nagata dimension ${{\dim}_{AN}}\left( H\,\wr \,G \right)$ of $H\,\wr \,G$ depends on the growth of $G$ as follows: if the growth of $G$ is not bounded by a linear function, then ${{\dim}_{AN}}\left( H\,\wr \,G \right)\,=\,\infty$; otherwise ${{\dim}_{AN}}\left( H\,\wr \,G \right)\,=\,{{\dim}_{AN}}\left( G \right)\,\le \,1$.

In this paper, we investigate a proper $\text{CAT(0)}$ space $(X,\,d)$ that is homeomorphic to ${{\mathbb{R}}^{2}}$ and we show that the asymptotic dimension asdim$(X,\,d)$ is equal to 2.

We provide a bounded rigidity result for uniformly contractible manifolds with bounded geometry and sufficiently slow asymptotic dimension growth. This notion of asymptotic growth is a generalization of Gromov's definition of asymptotic dimension. In particular for these manifolds we prove that the bounded assembly map is an isomorphism. Our result is inspired by the coarse Baum-Connes results of Yu and the development of squeezing structures.
