Exact solutions for fields of electric type in spherically stratified isotropic media

Abstract

A method is given for deriving refractive index profiles which yield wave functions expressed in terms of the standard transcendental functions for fields of electric type in spherically stratified isotropic media. Some new profiles, as well as all the previously known ones, are derived by applying the method.
