Primary cardiac tumours are uncommon in the paediatric population, accounting for fewer than 0.5% of paediatric cases of cardiac disease. Right ventricular tumours, including myxomas, are particularly rare and may be asymptomatic or demonstrate varying degrees of cardiac dysfunction based on the location and size of the tumour, inducing conduction abnormalities, syncope, embolism, and potentially, sudden death. We report a rare case of right ventricular myxoma causing severe right ventricular outflow tract obstruction and surgical intervention in a paediatric patient.

We herein report a patient complaining from significant hemoptysis due to secondary fistulisation of the peripheral branch of the left pulmonary artery and the left bronchial tree, which was successfully treated with a transcatheter angiography.

Triadin knockout syndrome has been defined as a disease with transient long QT, T wave abnormalities, and extremely severe fatal cardiac arrhythmias in young children. In this report, we wanted to share the characteristics of our two cases who presented with sudden cardiac arrest and were diagnosed with triadin knockout syndrome.

Congenital cardiac ventricular diverticulum is an extremely rare condition that usually occurs as a part of Pentalogy of Cantrell and frequently associated with sternal, pericardial, diaphragmatic, and thoracoabdominal wall defects. The prognosis of the patient depends on the complexity of abnormalities. Herein, we report biventricular diverticula as a part of incomplete Cantrell’s syndrome in a 1-day-old newborn.

Inferior sinus venosus defect associated with left hepatic vein drainage to the coronary sinus is an extremely rare condition. We report the case of a 41-year-old man suffering from pulmonary arterial hypertension related to this unusual CHD. Planning of heart–lung transplantation in this case required accurate anatomical description.

Percutaneous atrial septal defect closure is widely used as an alternative to surgical repair in many hospitals. Infective endocarditis related to occluding devices is commonly known, but following that atrial septal defect closure with a device in a child is rare. This report describes an 11-year-old girl who developed late-stage bacterial endocarditis following incomplete endothelialisation after a percutaneous procedure.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, a disease that causes transient contractile abnormalities mainly in the left ventricular apex, is rarely reported in children, especially in those with single-ventricle disease. A 4-year-old boy with a single right ventricle was transferred to our hospital following a severe seizure and was diagnosed with takotsubo cardiomyopathy by echocardiography. His cardiac function improved; however, he developed hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

Complications related to pulmonary artery stenting are potentially life-threatening. We reported a novel technique of how to achieve the introduction of a partial dilated stent into a long sheath using a snare in the event of a iatrogenic perforation of a balloon catheter.

There are no publications of similar techniques describing successful resolution of this type of complication.

We report a neonate with aortic arch hypoplasia and coarctation, in whom patency of the arterial duct could not be re-established and who was too ill to undergo primary surgical correction safely. This patient was treated in two stages: 1) angioplasty and stenting, 2) surgical correction. The safe period for surgical correction may be 2–3 weeks after angioplasty and stenting.

Congenital rupture of tricuspid chordae tendinea leading to severe tricuspid insufficiency is an extremely rare pathology associated with signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure presenting at birth. If the diagnosis and treatment of this pathology are not made early in life fetal demise may become inevitable.

We herein present a neonate with central cyanosis and congestive heart failure due to rupture of an anterior leaflet chordae resulting in severe insufficiency of the tricuspid valve who was treated with appropriate surgery.

Eosinophilic granulomatosis polyangiitis represents less than 2% of vasculitis cases in childhood. Children have worse long-term outcomes and higher mortality. Cardiac involvement portends a worse prognosis. We describe here an adolescent girl who presented with heart failure and stroke. Her blood investigations showed eosinophilia and high IgE levels. Cardiac evaluation revealed myocarditis, intracardiac thrombus, and endomyocardial fibrosis, a rare presentation of this disease in childhood.

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy is an uncommon diagnosis in the paediatric population, most commonly presenting with arrhythmia. We report an 11-year-old male presenting with right heart failure due to biventricular systolic dysfunction found to have arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy with de novo Desmin and MYH7 mutations.

Anatomically corrected malposition of the great arteries is a rare CHD, involving alignment and position of the great arteries. We report an infant with situs solitus, atrioventricular discordance, and ventriculoarterial concordance with the aorta arising anteriorly and to the right of the pulmonary artery. A mutation of Nodal gene, implicated in the pathogenesis of human left–right patterning defects, was found.
