Following a minimum observation time of 14 months, 74 patients having undergone surgical correction of prominent ears were re-examined. The applied surgical technique was modified from Stenström and Warrer utilizing the scoring technique and subcutaneous matters chrome catgut sutures for fixation. A totally deaf with a multiple-channel cochler prosthesis obtained open-set speech discrimation using the telephone. CID Everyday Sentences were presented by telephone to the patient. Who repeated an average of 21 percent when a repeat of the sentences was permitted. This result is consistent with the patient's reports of telephone usage.

In a number of Danish ENT departments, X-ray examination of the paranasal sinuses has been a routine procedure in cases of servere epistaxis of uncertain genesis two to four weeks after its treatment has been completed. The object has been to rule out cancer of the nose and/or paranasal sinsues. In the present study, the value of this procedure was assessed.

The experiences and results of four re-mediastinoscopies are presented. All the patients had to some degree developed mediastinal fibrosis but not to a degree seriously interfering with the procedure. It is concluded that re-mediastinoscopy should be done if it can contribute to the diagonsis.

A simple fast reliable technique for closure of an anterior neck defect is described. The technique involves skin grafting directly onto the serosal layer of the anterior stomach wall following pharyngo-laryngo-oesphagectomy and pharyno-gastric anastomosis.

The clinical aspects of mycobacterial infection of the head and neck are considered as presenting in patients at a cancer hospital over the last 15 years. Some difficulties in diagonsis with respect to the evalution of tuberculosis in this region are discussed.

A total of 32 patients with evidence of infection were identified. Twenty-six of these with cervical lymphadenopathy are considered as a group; their clinical features and diagonsis are summarized and a note made of the recent change in the macroscopic quality of the notes removed.

Six cases are given particular attention; two with laryngeal, two with nasal or adenodial infection and two with atypical mycobacterial infection diagnosed on clinical grounds.

Reports of tracheopathia osteoplastica localized to the larynx are few. Such a rare case is reported in a 66-year-old mald with life-long symptoms resulting in tracheotomy and resection of some of the osteoplastic tissue. A review of the disease and a discussion about actiology are described.
