Volume 218 - Issue 1 - January 2021
Giraffe by Bobbi
Artbox London is a registered charity and social enterprise that runs art workshops, trips, exhibitions and sales opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autism. One artist who exhibits on their website is Bobbi, whose picture is featured here. She tends to depict animals, landscapes and the natural world. Shapes are simplified, and she creates bold silhouettes, using acrylic paint as her medium. Bobbi comments: ‘When I make art it makes me relaxed, it stops me from having panic attacks, it helps me get everything out of my system when I'm upset, it stops me thinking about stuff and I like it!’
Thank you Artbox London for granting permission to use this image.
We are always looking for interesting and visually appealing images for the cover of the Journal and would welcome suggestions or pictures, which should be sent to Dr Allan Beveridge, British Journal of Psychiatry, 21 Prescot Street, London, E1 8BB, UK or [email protected].
