  • El conde Maurice de Madre, residente francés en Suiza, legó, hace algunos años, una cantidad importante al CICR, destinada a ayudar a los delegados, a los médicos, a los enfermeros o a las enfermeras y a los socorristas que se hayan entregado con generosidad en el transcurso de operaciones de socorro y estén, por ello, en situación difícil o se vean disminuidos en su salud.

    Los ingresos de este fondo se han utilizado, desde 1979, para efectuar asignaciones en favor de los colaboradores de la Cruz Roja, heridos o enfermos como consecuencia de una misión humanitaria. A partir de 1981, se han efectuado asignaciones similares para las familias de los colaboradores de la Cruz Roja que perdieron la vida en acto de servicio y que no pueden beneficiarse de ninguna prestación de seguro.

  • El nuevo edificio de la Agencia Central de Búsquedas (ACB) del CICR fue inaugurado últimamente en Ginebra; es, por lo tanto, una ocasión para hablar de los recientes progresos en cuanto a sus actividades y a su organizatián.

    ¿Cuál es su labor específica y cuáles son sus actividades? La ACB funciona hace más de cien años y dispone de un fichero central donde se clasifican, actualmente, 60 millones de fichas relativas a 40 millones de personas aproximadamente. En 1984, se recibieron y se registraron unas 340.000 solicitudes o informaciones. En términos generales, podemos decir que la Agencia Central de Búsquedas se encarga de reunir, conservar y comunicar datos acerca de las víctimas de los conflictos.
