Two detector systems, recently developed at the Royal Greenwich Observatory, have undergone tests on the coude spectrograph of the 30-inch telescope at Herstmonceux. The first is an intensified Reticon system, used in a photon counting mode; the second is a directly illuminated, cooled CID.

A two-dimensional photon counting and analog television system has been developed at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Academy of Sciences, USSR, for morphological investigations and photometry of faint extended objects, spectrophotometry and speckle interferometry.

The television multichannel spectrophotometer of the BTA (SAO, USSR AS), used for accumulating and recording the spectra of faint astronomical objects, is described. The Soviet image detection system comprises a three-stage image tube (UM-92) optically coupled to a high sensitivity SIT TV tube. The system operates in a photon counting mode with digital definition of the centres of photoelectron events. The spectrophotometer operates on-line with a minicomputer which exercises control of the system and performs primary reductions of the data collected. Illustrations of scans obtained during observations are given.

La France a toujours montré un intérêt particulier pour l'électronographie. Ceci est dû, d'une part au travail de pionnier d'André LALLEMAND (1904-1978), d'autre part au fait que les cameras électroniques sont bien adaptées aux observations astronomiques, en particulier, avec les grands télescopes.

An Electronographic Image Converter (EIC) of the “Spectracon” type is being used for routine spectroscopic observations at the 2.6m reflector of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. Some details of the EIC and film-loop applicator are given and the spectrophotometric accuracy and detective quantum efficiency are discussed.

First results have been obtained with an electronographic camera used at the prime focus of the C.F.H. Telescope in Hawaii. The camera is briefly described. It is an electronic camera with a new technological design and a tight valve allowing the recovery of the nuclear plates without destroying the photocathode. Some preliminary results are given.
