The immature stages of Elachiptereicus abessynicus Becker and Pachylophus lugens Loew (Diptera: Chloropidae)

Abstract

The larvae and pupae of Elachiptereicus abessynicus Becker and of Pachylophus lugens Lw. are described and illustrated and those of the latter species are compared with those of Pachylophus beckeri Curr. A previous misidentification of P. beckeri is recorded and additional records of host plants and distribution are given for all three species.
