Composition: Southern England (Wessex?) late ninth–early tenth centuries; to Chester-le-Street c.970 and revisions by individuals including Prior Aldred to c.990s including some made while in Wessex.
Description: Liturgical and teaching texts, including Cuthbert homilies, notes on the abbreviation, spelling and English translations of legal terms (fols. 85r–86r); lists of ancient titles and officials with English gloss (86v–87r); lists of ecclesiastical ranks with English gloss (87r); interpretations and etymologies of sacred names with English gloss (87v); names of the burial places of apostles with English translations (88r); alphabet poem of words beginning with each letter, also with English gloss (88v).
