Summary

Down the lane go the siblings of my friends,

Over the lee, the friends of my companions;

But never one of mine anywhere.

What of mine? What ails them?

Why must I be so lonely and blue?

Ata, dear brother, Ata,

I shall venture over every hill and dale,

To see your face before the night be dark,

That you might with me keep company.
