Articles to be inquired of for the chathedral church in the visitation of the right reverend father John Lord Bishopp of Worcester, anno domini1636.

  • Whether any member of this church, at his first admission doth sweare to observe such statutes as have beene hitherto used as statutes and not contrary to the lawes of the realme of England.

  • Are your deane and praebendaries resident uppon the denry and praebends as uppon theyre other benefices and who have beene absent and how long for the yeare last past.

  • Whether your devine service be used and the sacraments administred in due time and according to the booke of common prayer.

  • Whether all the members of your church especiallye your praebendaryes and eccleciasticall persons doe use desent garments, and atires as all gradiats theyre surplises and hoods and all other inferiors theyre surplise and capp.

  • Whether the praebendaryes and preachers of your church doe yearly preach the full number of sermons appoynted by the statutes and ordinances of the saide church in theyre owne persons or by others and who doe most usually preach them.

  • Whether the mumiments and evidences of the church be safely kept and in such manner as is required by the statutes thereof.

  • Whether the cathedrall church be in sufficient repaire both in the body chancell and all other places belonging to the saide church and are the howses and edifices belonging to the deane and prebendaryes and to all other members who are allowed be [sic] the statutes of your church to have howses kept in good repaire as of statute is required.

  • Whether be there within your church or percuncts thereof any usurers drunckards adulterers fornicaters incestious persons symonists open recustants or such as neglect to repare to the church to service or doe not receave the communion threice in the yeare or are famed or vehemently suspected of any of the crimes aforesaid.

  • What lay dwellers and inmates are there within the percunts of your church and who are they and what inclosures or inchrochments are made by any in or uppon your church, or churchyarde and by whom or what or wherein or [sic] they:
