The royal writ for a convocation

Rex venerabili in Christo patri Alexandro, eadem gratia archiepiscopo Eboracensi Angliae primati, salutem. Qualiter inimici nostri Franciae et alii sibi adhaerentes inter se alligati et undique hostiliter congregati regnum nostrum Angliae per terrain et per mare saepius invaserunt mala quamplurima et intolerabilia nobis et ligeis nostris inferendo et non solum de hoc contenti dictum regnum nostrum et ecclesiam sanctam nos et totam linguam Anglicanam subvertere et destruere de die in diem totis viribus se conantur nisi earum malitiae adiuvante Deo forenis resistatur vos non quaeverimus ignorare.
