Summary
The confluence of sinuses, also known as the torcula, is the most posterior area in the cerebral venous sinuses. It is the area in which the superior sagittal sinus (superior), straight sinus (anterior), and occipital sinus (inferior) meet and flow into both transverse sinuses (lateral). It is positioned superficially between the occipital lobe and the cerebellum, and like all cerebral venous sinuses, its walls are made of the dura mater.
