Summary
You are asked to anaesthetize a 56-year-old man for laser-debulking of a glottic tumour. He has already undergone various imaging processes and some of these are of direct relevance to you.
What role does PET scanning have in these cases and how are the images obtained? The patient has had a CT scan of the head and neck; what is the particular relevance in this case? Having undergone radiotherapy, what are the anaesthetic challenges to you as the anaesthetist? Does he pose any health hazard to you and the team, having received such therapy?
