A Global Race in the European Imaginary: Native Americans in the North Atlantic
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 26 February 2018
Summary
Our discussion of race has thus far centered on the Abrahamic faiths and epidermal binaries of black and white. But what happens to race when Europe encounters a world of differences, in which non-Abrahamic religions and a variety of skin colors proliferate, and few coordinates exist to make sense of a plethora of humans previously unaccounted for?
