Summary
Surabhi Mittal, is a Senior fellow at ICRIER. She is an agriculture expert and has been working for over eight years on various projects funded by international organisations such as the World Bank and the Global Development Network, government departments such as the Planning Commission, academic institutes such as the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and policy think tanks such as the National Centre for Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (NCAP) and the ICICI Bank. Her research expertise includes trade in agriculture (focussing on subsidies and other WTO issues), demand and supply projections, agricultural reforms, productivity, horticulture, domestic market integration, SAARC and food seciurity among others. Her work on policy has been used in drawing up the agriculture sub-committee report for the Eleventh Plan. She has over 25 publications in international and national journals, books, working papers, monographs and newspapers. Her work has been presented at several international conferences. She is a member of International Associations of Agricultural Economists, the Indian Society of Agriculture Economics, and the Agriculture Economics Research Association. She is a reviewer for various international and national journals. She is currently the South Asian Network of Economic Research Institutes (SANEI) India Focal poini at ICRIER. She did her masters from Delhi School of Economics and has a PhD in Agriculture Economics.
Arpita Mukherjee, is a Senior fellow at ICRIER. She has over twelve years of experience in policy oriented research in India and the UK. Her research interests include trade, investment and regulatory issues in services, bilateral/regional agreements, agriculture reforms and agribusiness investment, retail, migration, labour mobility and labour market programmes.
