Summary
It is important to recognize and treat infection appropriately, as sepsis is a leading cause of maternal mortality and still features highly in reports [1]. Consideration should be given to recent suggested measures that may have significant positive impact including early recognition of an unwell woman’s clinical condition regardless of her vital signs to instigate timely treatment. Additionally, all pregnant women should be offered the influenza immunization as part of antenatal care [1].
