Summary
The increasing economic and cultural importance of the copyright system throughout the world has reinforced the need to provide all persons, not just lawyers, affordable access to high-quality education about copyright law and policy. At the same time, the growing complexity of the system, attributable in part to the intricacy of its “exceptions and limitations,” has made achievement of that goal more difficult. This essay describes and assesses a recent effort to combine modern educational technologies with venerable pedagogic principles to enable more of the people who are affected by the copyright system to understand it and to participate in shaping it.
