Quitclaim by prior Robert [of Lubenham] to Adam of Newnham, chaplain, and to the abbot of St. Albans of all rights in the manor and advowson of Caldecote, Herts. At Bushmead. 14 October 1341.

Omnibus Christi fidelibus ad quos hoc praesens scriptum pervenerit frater Robertus, prior de Bysshemade, et ejusdem loci conventus salutem in domino sempiternam. Noverit universitas vestra nos unanimi assensu et voluntate concessisse, remisisse, et omnino pro nobis et successoribus nostris quietum clamasse domino Adaeo de Newenham capellano ac religioso viro domino Michaeli, abbati monasterii sancti Albani, et ejusdem loci conventui, et successoribus eorundem abbatis et conventus, totum jus et clamium quod habuimus, habemus, seu aliquo modo de caetero habere poterimus, in manerio de Caldecote juxta Asshewelle, in comitatu Hertfordiae, cum suis pertinentiis, et in advocatione ecclesiae ejusdem villae de Caldecote; quod quidem manerium dictus dominus Adam de Newenham tenet, ad terminum vitae suae, de predictis abbate et conventu, ex dimissione domini Hugonis, quondam abbatis monasterii praedicti, praedecessoris praedicti abbatis; ita quod nec nos, praefati prior et conuentus, nec successores nostri, nec aliquis nomine nostro, aliquod juris vel clamii in praedicto manerio, cum suis pertinentiis, seu in advocatione praedicta, de caetero exigere vel vendicare poterimus; sed ab omni actione exclusi sumus in perpetuum per praesentes. In cujus rei testimonium huic presenti scripto quietae clamationis sigillum nostrum commune apposuimus. Datum apud Bisshemade, in capitulo nostro, die Dominica proxima post festum sancti Dionysii, anno regni Edwardi regis Angliae tertii a conquaestu quinto decimo, et regni sui Franciae secundo.
