Summary
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is defined as a blood clot that forms in the veins and can migrate to other locations. It can be associated with a significant morbidity and mortality. The two most common types of VTE conditions are: Deep vein thrombosis (DVT): Blood clot (also known as thrombus) in the major deep veins of the leg (commonly) and/or pelvis.
